ORAL HEALTH PROMOTION

A Dentist, Oral Health Therapist & Dental Assistant from Maven Dental Castle Hill visited 4 local day care centres to talk to the children about:

– Who a dentist is, and what they do

– Dental equipment and protective gear worn in practice

– How to care for teeth and maintain good oral hygiene

And to give:

-Toothbrush model demonstration

-One-on-one brushing lessons

“Celebrating oral health at the Ipswich Naidoc Community event”

This project was submitted by a Families as First Teachers Educator. Ngukurr is a remote Aboriginal community in Southern Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. 

 

The objective of the program is to make teeth-brushing a part of daily Playgroup / Childcare / Preschool routine and to teach the children / families why brushing teeth is important and to make it part of their daily routine.
